Stumpwork "Wedding" Garden

My daughter's wedding reception was held in our yard. We'd had the garden re-furbished and it was looking particularly good. I took some photos and used a part of the garden, with a small pond, as the basis for this stumpwork garden. It was started in a class that was for making a garden in canvaswork. We were to use canvaswork stitches and add ribbon embroidery and stumpwork and whatever we liked. I ended up covering the canvas completely and went all stumpwork. I was very pleased with the result.

Pond with three fish The pond had free-smocked netting over it to represent wind-ruffled water. There were three small fish beads on the bottom. The rocks around the pond were made of Fimo clay and they were more or less in the same shapes as the rocks around the pond in our yard.

Flowers This close up shows the flowers and plants. The pink flowers are supposed to be geraniums. At that scale, it was the best I could do.
